This study aims to analyze how students perceive the ethics of AI use in academic activities, focusing on three main dimensions: integrity, transparency, and professional responsibility. The approach used is descriptive quantitative, employing a questionnaire instrument with a 5-point Likert scale, involving 178 students of Institut Prima Bangsa as respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics as well as validity and reliability tests with the assistance of SPSS software. The theoretical framework underpinning this study includes the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and the AI ethics frameworks from UNESCO (2021) and NIST (2023). The results show that, overall, students' perceptions of the ethics of AI use fall into the high category, with a mean score of 3.64. A total of 88.8% of students expressed their support for the establishment of formal policies regarding the use of AI at their institution. Furthermore, a weak but significant positive relationship was found between how frequently students use AI and their level of ethical awareness (rs = 0.312; p = 0.001). This study is expected to make a tangible contribution to the formulation of responsible AI governance policies in higher education that are grounded in the ethical values of the profession.
Khojanatun Khojanatun Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Jembatan Efektivitas Ilmu dan Akhlak Ahlussunah Wal Jama'ah https://mail.journal.unucirebon.ac.id/index.php/jeas/article/view/2287 Tue, 07 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Digitalisation and the Economic Productivity Paradox: Empirical Evidence from Developing Countries in Asia https://mail.journal.unucirebon.ac.id/index.php/jeas/article/view/2247
This study aims to analyse the impact of digitalisation on economic productivity in developing Asian countries within the context of the productivity paradox. The phenomenon of a global slowdown in productivity amidst the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), the internet, and digital technology indicates a mismatch between technological progress and increases in economic productivity. The study employs a quantitative approach using panel data regression on 10 developing Asian countries over the period 2005–2024. The research variables consist of GDP as the dependent variable, and internet users (INT), mobile cellular subscriptions (CELL), trade openness (TRADE), gross capital formation (GROSS), and inflation (INF) as independent variables. The research data was obtained from the World Bank via the World Development Indicators (WDI) and analysed using the Random Effects Model (REM).

The results indicate that internet users have a positive and significant effect on GDP, whilst inflation has a negative and significant effect on GDP. Meanwhile, mobile cellular subscriptions, trade openness, and gross capital formation do not show a significant effect on GDP. Collectively, all independent variables have a significant effect on GDP, with an Adjusted R-Squared value of 76.47%.

This study concludes that digitalisation has not yet been able to optimally boost economic productivity in developing countries in Asia. This situation points to a productivity paradox resulting from disparities in digital infrastructure, low effectiveness in the use of technology, and the fact that digital activities remain predominantly consumptive rather than productive. Humans have succeeded in accelerating cross-border digital connectivity, but have not yet fully succeeded in ensuring that such connectivity actually boosts economic productivity.
Fawaz Irfan Mubarok, Fakhri Ahmad Zainunnuri Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Jembatan Efektivitas Ilmu dan Akhlak Ahlussunah Wal Jama'ah https://mail.journal.unucirebon.ac.id/index.php/jeas/article/view/2247 Thu, 09 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000
